The Slow Fix.... as opposed to the Quick Fix.
I've been reading a few posts on Facebook recently that have set me thinking about "slow" versus "quick".
We live in a world where the "quick fix" is required. We drink instant coffee, have instant water when we open the tap. We eat in fast food restaurants, we ate in a food store in New York City recently called "Speedy". We quickly go shopping for a few things, quickly make dinner, gulp it down while we're on Facebook smart phone apps.
I have a habit of saying "I'm just quickly going to...." (whatever the task is at that moment). I catch myself often doing that. What pressure I create for myself, all day long. Why does it have to happen so quickly? I constantly have the feeling that "there isn't enough time for everything I have to get done" - hence I should do everything QUICKLY so I can get onto the next task.
I'm tired of living this way, so tired of rushing and not having time to "smell the roses".
